I woke up with the Galaxy Watch 5 having 18% battery life left after sleeping for just under 7 hours and used it for 22 hours and 37 minutes.
The battery will go considerably more quickly if you want to use the Watch 5 for workouts rather than just recording your daily steps. The Galaxy Watch 5 has 24% battery life left after 17 hours and 24 minutes of use, after recording six outside walking sessions totaling 1 hour and 27 minutes, along with numerous alerts and an always-on screen.
This battery life is satisfactory and superior to what I observed with my Apple Watch Series 7. If you turn off the always-on screen, reduce how often you receive notifications, reduce the brightness, etc., you might be able to get 50 hours of usage out of the device. However, if you intend to use the Galaxy Watch 5 with the capabilities that are offered, plan on using it for no more than 24 hours. It has respectable durability, however, it falls well short of what Samsung claims.
